Today I wanted to tackle something a bit different – a crossword puzzle, but not just any crossword. This one was themed “exec in tech,” and let me tell you, it sounded way cooler than my usual Sunday morning routine.
So, I grabbed my laptop, made myself a fresh cup of coffee, and dived in. First things first, I opened up the crossword online. The grid was there, all blank and waiting, and I felt that little thrill of anticipation. You know, the one where you’re like, “Can I actually do this?”
Getting Started
- Read all the clues first. Yeah, I know, it sounds basic, but it helps to get a feel for the whole thing.
- Look for the easy ones. There’s always a few gimmes, right? Like, “Company with a fruit logo” – that’s gotta be Apple.
- Fill in what you know. Even if it’s just a couple of words, it starts to build the puzzle out.
I started with the across clues. “Person who writes code” popped out at me. “Programmer,” I typed it in, feeling pretty good. Then, “Social media platform” – hmmm, could be a few things, so I skipped that one for now. I moved on to the down clues, filling in a few more, feeling like a real crossword pro.
The Tough Part
But then, things got trickier. There were clues like “CEO’s right-hand person” and “Term for a rapidly growing startup.” I stared at the screen, coffee going cold, feeling that familiar mix of frustration and determination.
I decided to take a break. Walked around a bit, refilled my coffee, and then it hit me! “Unicorn” – that’s what they call those startups! I rushed back, typed it in, and bam, a few more words appeared. It’s like magic when that happens, right?
The Final Stretch
With a few more breakthroughs, I was on a roll. I went back to the clues that had stumped me earlier, and suddenly, the answers seemed obvious. “CEO’s right-hand person” – “COO,” of course! A couple more clues, and I was down to the last word. “Term for a new product launch” – I thought hard, drummed my fingers, and then, “Rollout!”
I typed it in, and the screen flashed, “Congratulations! You’ve completed the puzzle!” I leaned back, grinning like an idiot. It wasn’t about changing the world or anything, but man, it felt good to finish that crossword. Just another day, another little challenge conquered.
I finished my crossword. It felt good to use my brain in a different way. Maybe I’ll try another one next week.
