So, I started digging into what the deal might be with the Genshin 5.0 banners the other day. You know how it is, new version number sounds big, makes you wonder what shiny new characters they’ll throw at us.
My process wasn’t anything fancy, really. Mostly just me scrolling through some community discussions, seeing what names people were tossing around. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly. One person says this character is definitely coming, another says no way, it’s gonna be someone else entirely. Gets your head spinning.
My Own Little Hunt
I spent a good hour just reading theories. Then I kinda went down memory lane, thinking about past banners. Remember the wait for Inazuma? Or Sumeru? Good times, but also super stressful trying to guess who to save for. I blew all my savings on Ayaka back then, totally worth it, but then Kazuha came right after and I was kicking myself.
This time, I’m trying to be smarter, maybe. Trying being the key word here. I even started a little note on my phone:
- Possible Natlan characters? (The Pyro Archon’s gotta be huge, right?)
- Maybe some reruns of older characters people missed?
- Any unexpected curveballs like they sometimes do?
It’s not much, just my own little wishlist mixed with what feels logical. But logic doesn’t always apply to gacha games, does it? I remember when everyone was convinced a certain character was coming, and then bam! Completely different lineup. It’s like trying to predict the weather.
What I Think (Maybe?)
Honestly, after all that “research,” I’m not much closer to knowing anything for sure. It’s all just guesses floating around. Natlan characters seem like a safe bet, obviously. A new region always brings new faces. The Pyro Archon is probably the main event everyone’s speculating about. What element, what weapon? Who knows!
Then there are the reruns. My buddy keeps saying Zhongli needs another run, but he says that every patch. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing Neuvillette again, missed him the first time around because I was broke on primogems after pulling for someone else. Classic Genshin player problem.
It kinda reminds me of this one time I was saving for months, had everything planned out, pity calculated and all. Then a surprise banner dropped with a character I totally didn’t expect but really wanted aesthetically. Ended up spending everything and getting nothing I originally planned for. That’s just how it goes sometimes, teaches you not to get too attached to plans.
So yeah, my “practice” digging into the 5.0 banners ended up being more about managing my own hype and wallet. It’s fun to guess, fun to see what everyone else is thinking, but at the end of the day, we just gotta wait for the official news. Until then, I’ll just keep hoarding my primos and hoping for the best. Let’s see what happens when the time comes!
