Alright, so I decided to buckle down and really spend some time practicing my th 11 attacks today. Been feeling like my war performance was kinda slacking, you know? Gotta pull my weight.
First thing I did was just scout around. Looked at my own base layout, thought about what usually trips me up. Then I hopped into some friendly challenges with clan mates. Lower stakes, good way to test stuff without losing trophies or war stars.
Trying Out Some Strategies
I started off wanting to get better with hybrid attacks. Queen Charge Hybrid, specifically. Heard it’s pretty reliable if you can nail the Queen Charge part.
So, I cooked up an army. Queen, 5 healers, some baby dragons and balloons for funneling, then the main punch of miners and hogs. Spells were mostly heals and rages, plus a poison.
My initial attempts were… well, let’s just say not great. My Queen kept wandering off in the wrong direction, or I’d drop my rage too late and the healers couldn’t keep up with the damage from single target infernos. Man, those things melt heroes fast.
- First attack: Queen walked the wrong way entirely. Ended up with like, a 40% one star. Ouch.
- Second attack: Funnel was okay, but I missed the timing on my siege machine deployment. Hogs and miners got separated. Bad pathing.
- Third attack: Got the Queen Charge deeper, but ran out of time! Classic time fail. So frustrating.
It felt pretty clumsy. You watch the pros do it and it looks so smooth, like clockwork. Then you try it and realize how many little things have to go exactly right.
Switching Gears
After getting a bit annoyed with the Queen Charge, I decided to try something simpler, maybe more forgiving. Went for an Electro Dragon attack. Yeah, I know, some people hate them, call them spammy. But sometimes you just want to see stuff explode.
Cooked up E-drags, loons, slammer, rage and freeze spells. The usual setup.
This felt a bit easier to execute, honestly. Less precision needed compared to the Queen Charge. You just need to create a decent funnel so they don’t fly around the edges.
The results were better, mostly high percentage two stars, even snagged a triple on a slightly rushed base. But it still feels kinda… cheesy? And against really well-designed anti-air bases, it can fall flat pretty hard.
Spent a good chunk of the afternoon just cycling through attacks, tweaking army comps, trying different deployment spots. Burned through a load of elixir and dark elixir. But hey, practice makes perfect, or at least, less terrible. Definitely learned a bit about pathing and spell timing today. Still got a long way to go to be consistent at TH11, but it felt good to actually sit down and work on it instead of just winging it in war.
