Okay, so you guys know I’m always trying to level up my golf game, right? Well, I decided to really buckle down and focus on some specific drills and practice techniques. I’m calling it my “Jenny Bae Golf” journey because, honestly, her swing is goals!

First things first, I watched a ton of Jenny Bae’s swing videos. Like, hours and hours. I was trying to figure out what makes her swing so smooth and powerful. I noticed her incredible balance and the way she really loads her weight into her legs. So, I started there.
Then, I hit the driving range. My initial goal was just to mimic her setup. Feet shoulder-width apart, a slight bend in the knees, and that relaxed grip. It felt a little weird at first, because I’m used to a more upright stance, but I stuck with it.
After the setup, I started working on my backswing. Jenny Bae has this beautiful, wide arc in her backswing. I tried to feel that stretch in my core as I turned, keeping my left arm (I’m right-handed) relatively straight. This was tough because I tend to get a little wristy.
Next up: the downswing. This is where things got interesting. I focused on feeling like I was pushing off the ground with my legs to initiate the downswing. Jenny Bae has so much power coming from her lower body! I wasn’t trying to kill the ball, just focusing on generating power from the ground up.
Here’s the key thing I realized: you can’t just copy someone’s swing perfectly. Everyone’s body is different! So, I adjusted things to fit my own body. I couldn’t get quite as wide of a backswing as Jenny Bae, but I focused on maximizing my rotation and feeling the stretch in my core.
To really drill these movements, I started doing some slow-motion practice swings at home. Just gripping a club and going through the motions, focusing on each part of the swing. This helped me build muscle memory.
I also started using a training aid – a simple alignment stick. I’d lay it on the ground to make sure my feet were aligned correctly, both during practice swings and when I was hitting balls at the range. This helped me stay consistent.
One of the biggest improvements I saw was in my ball striking. By focusing on using my legs and core, I was hitting the ball more consistently in the sweet spot. My shots were flying straighter and further.
It’s still a work in progress, of course. But I’m really excited about the progress I’ve made. I’m going to keep working on these drills and see where it takes my game. Stay tuned for more updates on my “Jenny Bae Golf” adventure!
