Who is Jeff Seager? The Baseball Legacy Behind Corey Seagers Success

Now, let me tell you about this feller named Jeff Seager. He ain’t some big shot like those fancy city folks, no, he’s just a regular man, but with a little bit of talent in his bones. He used to play baseball back in the day, and not just any baseball, but college ball at a place called Fairleigh Dickinson University over in New Jersey. Now, that’s a big name for a school, but in his time, he did what he had to do, just like any other young man tryin’ to make somethin’ of himself.

Who is Jeff Seager? The Baseball Legacy Behind Corey Seagers Success

Jeff Seager, you see, didn’t just have his own love for baseball, but he passed that down to his young ones. His boy, Corey Seager, well, he sure did follow in his daddy’s footsteps. They say talent runs in the family, and for this bunch, that’s the truth. His mama, Jody Seager, she was no slouch neither. They say she was good at every sport in high school – basketball, softball, track, you name it. So, it ain’t surprising that their son Corey grew up to be a star. He wasn’t just any player though, oh no. He made history, the first left-handed shortstop to hit over 200 home runs in the Major Leagues! Can you believe that? A lefty, just like a lot of the good folks back home, making history out there on them big leagues.

Now, Corey, he didn’t stop at just playin’ good ball, no sir. He went on to sign himself a mighty fine contract with the Texas Rangers. We’re talkin’ a big ol’ deal worth $325 million over ten years. That’s a whole lotta zeros, I reckon. And they didn’t just give him that money for no reason. He’s a star, making $32.5 million a year, and in 2025, he’ll get himself a nice base salary of $32 million. That’s more money than most of us could dream of, but let me tell ya, he earned it, workin’ his tail off to get there.

But Corey ain’t the only one in the family makin’ waves. His older brother, Kyle Seager, he’s done alright for himself too. Played his whole career for the Seattle Mariners, from 2011 all the way to 2021. Now, that’s a good long run, isn’t it? Kyle wasn’t no spring chicken when he got started, but he put in the work, and it paid off. His story’s a little different though, he wasn’t the flashy star like Corey, but he sure was steady, year after year, workin’ hard on that field for the Mariners. He got drafted in 2009, and from then on, it was his game to play.

So, when you look at Jeff Seager’s family, you see a bunch of hard workers, people who took what they had and made somethin’ special out of it. Sure, Corey and Kyle might’ve had a bit of extra talent, but they didn’t just sit on it. They worked hard, and now they’re making history. It’s a reminder that it ain’t always the flashiest folks who make it to the top – sometimes, it’s the ones who put in the long hours and do the hard work that come out on top.

Now, I reckon there’s somethin’ to be learned from the Seager family. If you got a dream, you can chase it down, just like them boys did. And who knows, maybe one day your name will be up there with the big ones, just like Corey and Kyle’s. It ain’t about where you come from, but what you do with what you got. Just like Jeff Seager did when he played ball in New Jersey, and just like his boys did when they made it to the big leagues.
