Max Greyserman: Rising Star on the PGA Tour in 2023

Well, let me tell ya, there’s this young man named Max Greyserman, and he’s been makin’ waves in the world of golf lately. Born on May 31, 1995, Max hails from Short Hills in New Jersey. Now, don’t get me wrong, he’s got quite a story behind him. You see, he’s Jewish, and his first language was Russian! His parents, Alex and Elaine, came to the United States as teenagers, all the way from Russia, and started a new life here in America. Ain’t that somethin’?

Now, Max, he wasn’t always playin’ the big leagues right away. He started out like many of us do, not even knowin’ where life might take him. He spent his younger years in New Jersey, and if ya look at his background, you’ll see he was always a little ahead of the game when it came to golf. At just 9 years old, he shot a 71 at the PGA National’s Fazio course! Can you believe that? Nine years old! I can’t even imagine hittin’ a ball that far when I was that age, but Max, he was somethin’ else.

Max’s journey really took off in the world of golf when he played college golf at Duke University. Now, if you don’t know much about Duke, let me tell ya, it’s one of the best schools for sports. He didn’t just sit around in class though; no sir, he was out there on the golf course, workin’ hard and playin’ his heart out. After college, he joined the Korn Ferry Tour, where he played for four whole seasons. It was tough, but that boy stuck with it and worked his way up, you know? It wasn’t all smooth sailin’, but his determination paid off when he finally got his first PGA Tour card in 2023. That was a big moment for him!

What’s even more amazin’ is how hard Max has worked for his place in the spotlight. He’s been out there hustlin’, and even though he hasn’t won a big one yet, he’s been up there at the top in a lot of the tournaments. I reckon he’s just waitin’ for that first big win to really make his mark. In fact, not too long ago, at the 3M Open, he played a mighty fine game. He finished with a 16 under, just two shots behind the winner, Aaron Rai. And he was right up there in the mix, lookin’ like he might just take it all!

Max’s Journey to the PGA Tour

Now, let me tell ya, the road to the PGA Tour wasn’t easy. Max turned professional back in 2017. It’s a tough world out there for golfers, especially with all the talent on the tour. But he kept pushin’ forward, and it paid off. In 2018 and 2019, he spent his time on the Korn Ferry Tour, and by the end of that, he finished the season at No. 80. Not too shabby for someone just startin’ out!

Max’s amateur career was just as impressive as his professional rise. In 2012, he won the Golf Pride Junior Classic with some mighty fine scores, 68-69-67, and he went on to win the New Jersey Junior in 2013. He was on a roll, and I reckon those wins helped him keep his head in the game and push even harder for the big leagues.
